Weekly Recaps Throwback 2014 Edition

First, let me start by thanking you all for participating in the prestigious fantasy football league ever created!

Now to the top 8. Ryan, Nate, Cory, Jesse (WFT), Luke, Matt, Chris and as always, we save the best for last, T. Congratulations on making the 2021 Playoffs in The League of Legends. Every year brings its own unique challenge and you’ve all risen to the occasion. Congrats and good luck.

Today I went back and pulled the recaps from 2014. We all had to deal with a lot this season. I am sure the teams that did not make the playoffs are angry and can’t wait for next year. Well, i thought it would be best to end the year with some throwback recaps, by going all the way back to the begin. The only recaps you will see below will be of people that are still in the league playing against each other. Have Fun!

Week 2: Mark vs Ryan

Johnny Field Goal remains at the top of the league after putting Peanut Putter in a 0-2 hole.

It was a low scoring affair, both teams were kept under 100 points but it was Johnny Field Goal who was able to come away with the win. After a top score in week one, Johnny Field Goal cut it close with a 5 point win in week two. Johnny and World Boss made the first trade of the season, with Johnny Field Goal receiving AJ Green while Foster and Cooks were sent to world Boss. After speaking to Foster about the trade, he replied saying, “it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me”. He did not like anything about the Johnny Field Goal’s organization; he wishes them nothing but failure and can’t wait to run all over them in week 4.  AJ went down with an injury but that still didn’t slow the Commish down. Peanut Butter still can’t seem to find his way, after two weeks he has yet to break the 100 point mark.

Week 4: T vs Mark

World Boss delivers as promise, knocking Johnny Field Goal from the undefeated ranks.

It was the matchup of the week where the undefeated Johnny field Goal squared off against World Boss. It was supposed to be a heavy weight bout but Johnny Field Goal was no match for World Boss. Before the matchup World Boss promised a victory and he delivered in fine fashion. Johnny Field Goal was feeling untouchable, being the last undefeated team in the league but he got very nervous from the moment he saw World Boss on his schedule. World Boss showed how easy it was to beat Johnny Field Goal by leaving a 30 point running back on his bench and starting a defense that scored in the negative. They say Defense wins championship and World Boss is surely the top in that category, after four weeks, he has held three of his opponents under 100 points. Johnny Field Goal has another tough matchup next week as he will face off against Dream Team.

Week 4 Bill vs Ryan

Rug Knucklers didn’t lose any sleep over Peanut Butter

It was a week where Rug Knucklers saw Peanut Butter on the schedule and just laughed because he knew how easy it was going to be to get the win. On the young season Rug Knucklers now sits in the 8th and final playoff spot. Peanut Butter tried drafting his team, he tried trading with his brother he even called 1-800-how to win my first game but still can’t figure it out.  With the least amount of moves on the season with just 2, it is obvious why Peanut Butter is winless he is obviously not doing enough to improve his team. One thing we know for sure is that Peanut Butter is brown and so is shit, I guess he’s simply trying to tell us his team is full of shit. (Let’s see how many of you stop eating peanut butter now lol) Rug Knucklers will try to make light work of Luke’s Official Team a matchup where he is the underdog.

Week 7: Luke vs Ryan

Luke’s Official Team outshines Peanut Butter in the City of Brotherly love.

They may be brothers but it was nothing more than a battle to save their seasons. After a rough start to the season Luke has put himself in a good position, moving up to 7th place and in the playoff picture. Luke has shown great improvement over the past few weeks. Despite having a losing record he has done just enough so far to get his team in the playoff picture. With six more games to go we’ll keep an eye on Luke to see if he can make the cut. Peanut Butter season is over! Sitting at 1-6 there is no signs pointing to a turn around to his season. All Peanut Butter can do now is play spoiler, maybe pick up a couple wins along the way against teams on the bubble. It will be interesting to see if Luke will extend Johnny Filed Goal’s losing streak. If Peanut Butter can pick up a win next week it would sure make things a bit tough for Raymond’s Team.

Week 8: Luke vs Mark

Luke’s Official Team continues to Kick Johnny Field Goal while he’s down.

Luke has been impressive once again this week. After a rough start to the season, Luke’s Official Team has made incredible strides in improving his team and league standings.  With a very weak opponent in Rusty Mangoes in week 9, Luke surely has a great shot of being about .500 for the first time this season. There is so much to be said about Johnny Field Goal but I really don’t know where to start. This may sound repetitive but I can’t stress it enough.  Yes Johnny started the season 3-0 and now has lost 5 straight.  Johnny has yet to score over 100 points during the losing streak. Johnny Field Goal has a chance to make history next week. If he loses Johnny will be the sole holder of the longest losing streak in the league with 6. He is currently tied with Peanut Butter at 5. It was bad enough that Johnny has been without his top receivers but things got even worse.  Johnny will now be without the services of the newly acquired Brian Quick who was lost for the season. It’s going from bad to worse for Johnny. Will the commissioner not make the playoffs in his own league? Time will tell.

Week 9: Mark vs Bill

Johnny Top scores in week 9 to end his losing streak

This is just what Johnny has been waiting for, to get a win and his top receiver Calvin Johnson back. Despite getting the win Johnny still sits on the outside looking in. I did not have Johnny Field Goal in my playoffs picture, but he has 4 more games to prove me wrong.  Johnny now has a chance to get back on the winning track now that he has a fully healthy team and some powerhouse rookies, such as Odell Beckham Jr, who is a member of the NY Giants. Johnny claims to be an Eagles fan, green on the outside but blue on the inside I say. A disappointing loss for Rug Knucklers, a team who I thought would be running the table. Besides Peanut Butter Rug Knucklers is the only other team in the league who’s league transactions has yet to hit double digits. Rug Knucklers will have a chance to turn his season against Bville Boss. We will see if Rusty Mangoes plays a QB against Johnny Field Goal this week.

Week 11: T vs Bill

World Boss can now be called the comeback King after a close encounter with Rug Knucklers.

It’s now back to back Monday night comeback wins for World Boss. Sometimes there can be nothing more stressful than needing wins at the end of the season and hoping your team pulls through.  World Boss is a quick learner. After losing to Bushwackers on Monday night in week 9, World Boss took steps to make sure that wasn’t going to happen again. World Boss now likes to play games with his opponents. He gives them the lead heading into the Monday night games. He let’s them get all excited, jump up and down in their living rooms. As soon as they try to take a seat with a victory smile on their face, World Boss pulls the chair from out under them.  Rug Knucklers is still my favorite team on paper.  A team that I though really had a good shot at making the playoffs comfortably but now at  5-6, Rug Knucklers is now in a fight for his life. Rug is holding onto the 8th and final playoff spot but one more loss could sure prove crucial. Rug Knucklers will try to save his season against a divisional monster The Salami Vice.

Week 11: Mark vs Ryan

Johnny Field Goal reestablishes early season success with another win over Peanut Butter.

I think we all knew what the outcome of this one was going to be. I give anyone who faces Peanut Butter a 99% chance of winning. Johnny Field Goal is a streaky team, he either wins or lose in streaks. Johnny first started the season on a 3 game win streak, followed by a 5 game losing streak and now he is back riding another 3 game winning streak. If history repeats itself  there are two thing s that will happen to Johnny Field Goal. Since he has hit another 3 game winning streak, there might be another 5 game losing streak on the horizon. If that happens, Johnny will finish the season at 6-7 and miss the playoffs or make the playoffs and lose in the first round. One thing we know for certain is that Johnny Field Goal will be facing a desperate Bville Boss team. With a win Johnny could put an end to Bville Boss’s miserable season, but with a win he could open the door for Bville to even take his spot.
