2023 Mid-Season Awards Race for Week 7

Welcome to the 2023 mis-season awards review. Below you will find the current front runners for each award as of week 7.

There are a few changes for picking the winners. Now that the league has an executive committee, all winners will be decided by the league committee members, with the exception of The Super T’s MVP Award. The winner for this will be picked by Trey.

There may be a surprise or two at the end of this page.

Super T’s MVP Award

Trey usually picks multiple teams that are in the running for his award, however this year we are only highlighting one team. The idea here is to match the other awards, however, at the end of the year we will reveal the runners-up.

Current Award Leader

Shady

Matt is currently the top dog for the Super T award. I was surprised by one of the stat Trey looked at when he made the decision. The stat that he looked at was points scored against!! It just goes to show the kid is always thinking. He is now even considering defense!! Shady has allowed the lowest points against on the season, sounds like a top defense to me! They say defense wins championship, and now it also puts you as the front runner for the Super T’s Award! Let’s see if Matt can hold onto this lead or if Cam’s record-breaking performance will come into play later in the season.

Commissioner Special Award

Week three was a memorable one. We all got a front row seat to the greatest fantasy performance ever. Cam came into week three with a vengeance and shattered Mark’s record of over 200 points scored in a game. When you score 211 points in a game, and make it into the record book, there is a good chance you may take home the Commissioner Special award as well.

Division Winner

5-2

The most self-explanatory award there is. You win the most games you win the division award. Cam is doing a very good job of defending his 2022 crown, let’s see if he can become the first back-to-back division award winner.

The Annihilator

Shady is the current leader with the largest margin of victory on the season with 92.02 against Walt in week 4. Bill was the previous leader back in week 1 with 53.92 against Jesse until Shady came and shook his shaker all over week 4. I am certain Shady is not done shaking the shaker. i Wouldn’t be surprised if he holds on or even extend his current lead.

Top Performer

Jason is currently running away with the Top Performer award. Jason currently has three top performing high scores for a total of 442.2 points. Luke still holds the record with 4 total weekly high scores totaling 717.66 points. We will keep an eye on Jason to see if he will be able to challenge Luke’s record.

The Turkey Stuffer

Winner will be announced after week 12 Thanksgiving games.

Chris Cummings Prime Time Award

Award Leaders

The race is extremely close to this point, we have a total of 5 teams tied with 2 comeback wins a piece after week 7. I am sure we will see many more. The only question is, are we going to see more wins from the names below, or will we have some new names join the list and run away with it. This is another trophy Cam is looking to defend.

Hopefully you read the top of the page where I said I may have a surprise for you, well here it is. We are going to be introducing two new trophies this season that will be presented at next year’s draft. You have all been playing towards them without even knowing. The beauty about it, is even if you had known, it would not have changed your mind or play styler because I am sure you are all here to win as many games as possible!

The first trophy will be called “Home of the Brave”. This will be awarded to the team with the most home wins. When you record a home win, it simply means you’ve defended your home turf. What comes to mind when you think of defending your home? A solider does, so don’t be surprised if the trophy represents our armed forces. You will just have to wait and see.

The second trophy will be called “The Homewrecker”. This will be given to the team with the most away wins for going into someone home stadium and creating havoc. When I think of a homewrecker, the only thing that comes to mind now is a stripper! You may see a stripper on a pole at next year’s draft, time will tell with this one as well.

Now, I am sure you all have the two questions below in mind.

  1. How do I know when I am home or away?
  2. Is everyone playing equal home and away games?

Well, to answer the first question, see below.

When you look at the schedule, the team listed first is the away team and the second is home. For example, in the first game, Jason would be away, and T would be home.

To question number two, the answer is yes, everyone will play a total of 7 home and away games.

Now to see where everyone is on the season.

In the event two teams are tied for either home or away wins, the tiebreaker will be home or away points scored.

This DOES NOT go to overall points scored. If Cam and Matt are tied with the most home wins, the team that scored the most points during their home wins will take the crown. This will be the same for the away games.
